Raised by the six Krittika stars, he grew into a wise and valiant warrior, even teaching Lord Shiva the meaning of “Om.”
Also known as Arumugam, Murugan has six faces and is worshipped at six holy shrines in Tamil Nadu, called the Arupadai Veedu. He symbolizes victory, knowledge, devotion, and purity.
